Plastic is very popular in India. It is versatile, cheap, low-maintenance needed and long-lasting. However, India and its plastic pollution is very different from other countries like USA, UK, Japan, etc.
Plastic causes major damage to land and ocean in our country. People carelessly throw plastic on roads and in river.
Government executed laws to control the usage of plastics. Plastic was initially banned but now some exemption has been given, plastic shouldn’t be manufactured more than 50 microns.
Many organizations have started organic cutlery to cut the wastage of plastic in social gatherings. These are made up of jowar, rice and wheat. Quite ingenious!
People’s mind has to be changed in order to reduce and reuse plastic. School children are taught in schools about its hazards and are urged to not use it.
